Alabama was without RB Bo Scarbrough for Friday’s practice and Saturday’s scrimmage. While that may look like worrisome news as a headline, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban explained Saturday that it’s not a serious long-term issue with Scarbrough. The running back is not injured, but too sick to practice.

“Bo has been ill the last two days, pretty sick, talking about ill enough to be in bed,” Saban told reporters. “We don’t think this is a serious illness or anything like that, but it is something that we didn’t think it would be good for him not to be in a position where he would be resting.”

Alabama has arguably the deepest backfield in the country, and Scarbrough is expected to be a big part of the Crimson Tide ground game.
