Alabama’s defense has been getting criticized by many this week after the Crimson Tide gave up 46 points to LSU in the team’s only defeat of the season but the outcome of that game likely would have been different if not for all the injuries Nick Saban’s defense has had to deal with this season.

Two of the best players that have missed the entire season up to this point are linebacker Dylan Moses and defensive lineman Labryan Ray. Recently, there have been developments with both players that have Alabama fans curious.

One report suggests Ray is out for the season while Moses, who most assumed would be lost for the season after getting hurt in fall camp, was seen on the Alabama sideline suited up for the LSU game.

During his most recent media availability, Saban cleared the air on Ray’s status as the team heads into the final three games of the season.

“He still hasn’t been cleared medically to even start practicing,” Saban said of Ray. “He is still in rehab mode right now to see when he can get in a position to get back and maybe play. We are waiting for the medical staff to say he can do that.”

When asked about Moses suiting up for LSU, the Alabama coach explained that the Baton Rouge native just really wanted to partake in the event but is nowhere close to returning to the field.

“Well, he just wanted to, being from Baton Rouge, be out there. He came and asked if he could dress for the game, wanted to be a part of the team for that game,” Saban added. “We have no intentions of playing him or have any indication that he’s ready to come back and start practicing or playing, that’s not the case. It was just something that he wanted to do to be a part of the team.”
