Paul Finebaum went off on the response to Florida State being left out of the College Football fans on the latest edition of “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX on Monday.

The Seminoles were ranked 5th in the final CFP rankings much to the dismay of their fans. Finebaum already blasted Florida State’s president and athletic director for the “fake outrage” from the decision.

This time, Finebaum called the reaction unprecedented. He further said that the reinterpretation of what college football and the CFP is about was astonishing. Greg McElroy referred to the reaction as vitriol.

“Really unprecedented, Greg. I understand all the things that have been said and the frustration,” said Finebaum. “But the complete and total reinterpretation what college football and the College Football Playoff has been about has been truly astonishing.”

The reaction stems from where we are as a society in Finebaum’s eyes. He is more fed up with people in media than anything else.

“I never get too upset with what I read on Twitter because I realize that those are people who just can’t get into your show and just expressing themselves. But, more from people in the industry who do understand how the CFP is developed and designed,” said Finebaum. “To me it is just complete and unadulterated fake outrage. It’s where we are as a society, where people without any facts just gravitate towards any issue, and just regurgitate whatever the talking points are.”
