Paul Finebaum had a little of a bone to pick with Alabama fans on Sunday.

A few weeks ago, Alabama was struggling to shake off Auburn in the Iron Bowl before eventually winning in 4 overtimes. That, along with several close calls during the season, led to doubt that the Crimson Tide would be able to match up well against a dominant Georgia defense in the SEC Championship Game.

After Saturday’s blowout of the Bulldogs behind a Heisman-worthy performance by Bryce Young, though, all appears normal in the Tide’s world once more. And on Sunday, they learned that they’d be the top seed in the College Football Playoff with the possibility of facing the Dawgs again for the championship in Indianapolis on Jan. 10.

Finebaum called out Alabama fans on Sunday following the release of the final CFP Top 25.

“In the midst of it all, so many people wrote Alabama off, including some of their own fans,” he said on ESPN, according to On3. “I can’t tell you how many times we received calls on our daily show, with fans wanting coordinators fired, complete upheaval. Everyone other than Nick Saban.”

Saban himself was angered by the criticism from Tide fans that they weren’t winning games by overwhelming margins, letting loose an epic rant on his radio show days before the Iron Bowl.

“When I came here, everybody was happy to win a game…now, we happy to win a game anymore. We’re not happy to win a game anymore at all,” he said. “I mean, we think we should win games by whatever, and I don’t think that’s fair to the players either.”
