Paul Finebaum loves discussing Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide, and this season, they’ve given him plenty to talk about.

The Crimson Tide went to Kentucky on Saturday and left with a dominant 49-21 victory, moving them to 7-0 in SEC play and clinching the SEC West title. Alabama is currently No. 8 in the College Football Playoff rankings, but that could certainly change this coming Tuesday.

On SportsCenter on Sunday morning, Finebaum ranked his top 4 teams, but then had the Tide as a team to file away. He explained that Saban’s squad has a case to be 1 of the 4 best teams in the nation:

“You could argue very convincingly I think that Alabama is 1 of the 4 best teams in the country,” Finebaum said. “But they still have that nasty loss against Texas they need to scrape away. They have a good chance to do that in a couple of weeks against Georgia.”

Where will the Tide end up in Tuesday’s rankings? The top 8 teams all won on Saturday, so it might be difficult for Alabama to inch closer to the top 4 this week.

Still, there are a couple weeks left in the regular season, which means there are a couple more weeks left for chaos that could help the Tide sneak into the Playoff when all is said and done.
