In Week 6, Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy snagged two touchdown passes in Alabama’s 65-31 win at Arkansas. It put Jeudy at eight touchdown catches for the year. At that pace, Jeudy was set to snag 16 touchdowns in 12 games, which would tie the single-season Alabama record set by Amari Cooper in 2014.

Saturday against Missouri, Jeudy posted a season first – a box score with only one touchdown reception. The super sophomore had previously posted either zero or two touchdowns in every other game of the 2018 campaign.

The good news for Jeudy is that the one touchdown gets him closer to 16 (obviously) and keeps him on pace to likely set the record. With nine touchdown receptions in seven games, Jeudy is averaging 1.29 touchdowns per game. If Jeudy keeps that pace, he will score receiving touchdown No. 17 in his 14th game.

Barring an unforeseen cancellation, Alabama will play 12 regular-season games. With seven wins already, UA has guaranteed it will go bowling, meaning the Crimson Tide will play at least 13 games. With the SEC Championship Game looking likely and the possibility of up to College Football Playoff games, the record is in reach for Jeudy.
