Jones has yet to appear in a game for the Crimson Tide, and he will likely take a redshirt this year, entering the 2018 season as a redshirt freshman.
Jones was a 3-star recruit in the 2017 class and one of two quarterbacks, along with Tua Tagovailoa, in the Crimson Tide’s class.
