If he wasn’t already aware, Tua Tagovailoa is learning that the leadup to the NFL Draft produces a nonstop rumor mill. Less than a week out from the 2020 NFL Draft, a new report says the former Alabama quarterback is “off the board” for three teams.

The news comes from Bob McGinn of The Athletic, per the Bleacher Report. McGinn’s article is driving the Friday news cycle (as it also included Wonderlic scores for numerous draft prospects). According to the latest report, Tagovailoa is off those teams’ boards because of scouts and executives’ concerns about his ability to stay healthy.

That development isn’t surprising to those who have followed the recent headlines surrounding Tagovailoa as a draft prospect. In the last week, Tagovailoa himself and a former NFL doctor have pushed back against a new narrative that he’s “injury-prone.” The reports of “more injuries” have produced a slew of takes from analysts on whether Tagovailoa should be drafted in the top 5, top 10 or later. Noted draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. recently dropped Tagovailoa in a mock draft.

Tagovailoa, his family and representatives are presumably ready for the pre-draft circus to be over.
