Nick Saban has clearly been burning up the phone lines in recent days as the Alabama coach has reportedly managed to lure multiple assistant coaches to Tuscaloosa in short order.

If you missed the news, Saban reportedly hired Kyle Flood to coach the offensive line at Alabama and now it is being reported that Sal Sunseri is making a return to Tuscaloosa. Tim Watts of BamaOnline/247Sports was the first to report the news on Sunseri’s return to Alabama.

Adding another layer of intrigue to this news, Sunseri worked as the defensive line coach for Dan Mullen in Gainesville last season. It is unclear what position Sunseri plans to coach in Tuscaloosa, as the Crimson Tide already have arguably the best defensive line coach in the nation on staff in Craig Kuligowski. If Sunseri is announced as defensive line coach, Kuligowski could be on his way out at Alabama.

However, Sunseri does have a background coaching multiple positions on defense in addition to some coordinating experience. It should also be noted that his son Vinnie Sunseri played for Saban at Alabama and recently announced he has returned to Tuscaloosa to serve as a graduate assistant.

At least one Florida player is acknowledging that Sunseri is leaving Gainesville:
