It all sounds like fun and games now but how will the Tagovailoa boys relationship develop once Taulia enrolls in Tuscaloosa and starts competing with this older brother Tua for the starting quarterback role at Alabama?

If you are unaware, Taulia is a four-star quarterback prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle that’s currently committed to Alabama. With his older brother already involved in one heated quarterback competition with Jalen Hurts this offseason, there’s a chance Taulia sparks a new one when he arrives on campus.

In a YouTube video recently posted by AL.com, the boys’ mother Diane discussed how difficult a process a potential QB battle could be for her sons. According to her, they have never played the same position on the same team before. That’s something they’ll have to get used to if Taulia keeps to his commitment and signs with Alabama in December.

So how does the current Crimson Tide quarterback believe the situation will play out?

“Whatever it may be, he’s going to have to work, I’m going to have to work and I think we are just going to have to go from there,” Tua said. “Just getting each other better.”

His little brother added that he’s well aware he’s going to be pushed by Tua on a daily basis.

“I know that he’s always going to be working, so I have to be working,” Taulia added.

The rising high school senior was then asked what’s going to happen when he gets to Alabama? His answer should clue you in on his competitive fire and resolve considering the incredible challenge he potentially faces of attempting to unseat Tau in the lineup.

“Shoot, I don’t know. It’s not going to be easy for him, I know that,” Taulia answered.

The Alabama signal caller got in the last word, though, subtly stating he plans to make sure he keeps his little brother on the bench when he arrives in 2019.

“I’m going to try and make sure my brother redshirts so he doesn’t have to give up that year of eligibility,” Tau concluded.
