When Taulia Tagovailoa signed with Alabama in December, Dan Enos was expected to be his position coach and/or offensive coordinator. That changed this month when Enos decided to take the offensive coordinator position at Miami.

All indications are that Steve Sarkisian is returning to Alabama to be the offensive coordinator. Tagovailoa told Brandon Huffman of 247Sports that he’s aware of the Sarkisian news, but only knows what has been reported.

“I’ve just heard stuff about it on social media,” Tagovailoa said. “I know Coach (Nick) Saban is always going to make the right decision for what’s best for the team. Whatever it happens, it’s for the best interest of the team.”

When Sarkisian was head coach at USC, he recruited Tagovailoa’s older brother to the Trojans. Now both Taulia and Tua will likely be playing for Sarkisian in Tuscaloosa.

“Coach Sark, he’s good,” Taulia said. “He coached in the NFL and in college before.”

Even though Tua was the Heisman Trophy runner-up and set records at Alabama in 2018, Taulia isn’t ceding the starting job to his older brother.

“I’m going to make him work,” Tagovailoa said.
