When the AP Poll came out on Monday, Alabama was the No. 1 team, followed by Clemson in the No. 2 spot. The Tigers and Tide have met up in the last three College Football Playoffs, splitting their title-game matchups 1-1.

Both teams are expected to dominate again this year, and many project both to make it to this year’s Playoff field.

On Tuesday, CBS Sports analyst (and former coach) Houston Nutt said he thinks the Tigers will get the best of Nick Saban’s squad this year:

“This defensive front, they’re too tough,” he said. “We’re talking about guys who could have gone to the NFL last year. Let me give you some names, guys, make sure you know. You probably know them — Dexter Lawrence, Austin Bryant, Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins. That’s all you’ve got to say. That helps that young quarterback — Kelly Bryant — tremendously, because you have a defense that’s going to get you the ball.”

A lot has to happen for the teams to meet again, but if they do get together for Part 4 of their Playoff rivalry, it should be a lot of fun to watch.
