Xavier McKinney and Evan Neal know something about getting a program to a championship level, and the New York Giants are trying to duplicate what they did at Alabama with the Giants in the NFL.

McKinney was caught by an on-field mic telling Neal that they’ve been there before and can do it again.

“It’s the start of something great, bro,” McKinney said to Neal. “We gotta take this (expletive) to the next level. You know what it takes, we’ve been there. We gotta make sure them are going on offense. Got to, let’s do it, c’mon.”

McKinney was a second-round (36th pick overall) draft choice by the Giants in 2020. He’s played in 23 games with 20 starts and made 117 tackles (73 solo), with 6 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 11 passes defensed, 2 tackles for loss and one special teams tackle.

Neal was the backbone of Alabama’s offensive line in recent years as a stalwart left tackle, was selected No. 7 overall by the New York Giants.

Neal was known for his versatility along the line as he had 40 starts over 3 seasons at 3 positions. Neal started 13 games at left guard in 2019, 12 games at right tackle in 2020 and 15 games at left tackle in 2021. Neal was a permanent team captain for 2021, and a consensus first-team All-American.
