Arkansas has filled its kicking vacancy with a commitment from Hawaii transfer Matthew Shipley.

The Razorbacks needed someone new at kicker after Cam Little decided to take his talents to the NFL. Little hit all 33 of his extra point attempts and went 20-for-24 of his field goal attempts.

Shipley comes to Fayetteville from Hawaii. He had been with the Rainbow Warriors since 2020. Shipley converted 96.8% of his extra points and went 14-of-18 on field goal attempts in 2023. Shipley also has experience as a punter, taking 60 punts for Hawaii this year.

In his career, Shipley is 125-for-127 on extra point tries and 56-of-73 on field goal attempts. He’s also averaged 40.5 yards per punt over the past three seasons with Hawaii.

Having an experienced player at kicker is more valuable than most teams realize in college football. Shipley will have some big shoes to fill after the hole that Little left, however.

Another position of need at Arkansas was filled on Friday. San Jose State transfer offensive lineman Fernando Carmona Jr. committed to the Hogs. Ty’Kieast Crawford is coming back for another year on the offensive line as well.
