Arkansas spoils Mike Wright's start with early pick, takes ensuing drive to score first
Arkansas didn’t waste any time spoiling Mike Wright’s start for Mississippi State as Will Rogers is out. Wright threw an interception to Al Walcott on the Mississippi State 35-yard line on his first pass of the game.
The Razorbacks were happy to be back home in Fayetteville after a brutal road stretch that led to a 4-game losing streak. Rogers suffered a serious left shoulder injury 2 weeks ago against Western Michigan, and even though the Bulldogs had a bye week, he couldn’t get back to play this week.
Arkansas went 5 plays, but settled for a 24-yard field goal from Cam Little after a 3rd down and 4 pass near the goal line from KJ Jefferson to Ty Washington fell incomplete.
That interception from Walcott was Arkansas’ 12th takeaway as a team this season, which is tied with Vanderbilt for first in the SEC.
On the next Bulldogs’ drive, they went 4 plays and out to give the ball back to Jefferson and the Hogs.
