Arkansas has had a rough season in 2023 as it currently sits at 0-5 in SEC play and has lost its last 6 overall.

On Saturday, the Razorbacks suffered a significant in-state de-commitment from its 2024 recruiting class. Courtney Crutchfield, an in-state wide receiver from Pine Bluff (Ark.), announced the news on his X account moments before the Razorbacks’ game against Florida.

“You get one recruitment process and I want to take the time to carefully consider all of my options without restriction,” he wrote. “I have the [utmost] respect for the Arkansas staff and appreciate them for everything.”

Crutchfield’s announcement is a massive blow to the Hogs’ incoming class considering he’s considered the No. 1 player in the state by 247Sports’ composite rankings. The 4-star was also considered their highest-rated pledge in the 2024 cycle.

The Razorbacks, of course, fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos after a 7-3 loss to Mississippi State on Oct. 21. That said, Kenny Guiton, their wide receivers coach and the interim OC, was Crutchfield’s primary recruiter.

Arkansas is 2-6 on the season. It will look to keep its slim bowl hopes alive with a win against Florida on Saturday.
