John Morgan, a veteran defensive lineman from Pitt, who had multiple offers from SEC programs, has committed to play in the SEC West.

Morgan, who is 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds, is from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He ended his Pitt career with 76 career tackles, 14.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. His best statistical season came in the 2021 ACC-title winning season, as he registered 26 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

Morgan considered Missouri, and also had offers from Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Colorado, Appalachian State, Memphis, Buffalo and Akron, according to Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Arkansas coach Sam Pittman, defensive line coach Deke Adams and assistant defensive line coach Keith Jones made him feel at home during his official visit. Morgan also learned about new defensive coordinator Travis Williams, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

“It was really nice. I got time to spend with Coach Glitch (Jones), Coach Deke, and I like Coach Pittman a lot. He’s a great guy (and) he talked about the new DC hire,” Morgan said after his official visit. “The guy came from UCF and he told me they want me to be an integral part of the defense. They want me to play the Jack position and get after the quarterback and really change the program around.”
