KJ Jefferson made things official with the transfer portal on Saturday after his 5th season with Arkansas.

Jefferson accounted for 7,911 yards passing and 88 total touchdowns from his time with the Hogs. It was reported in November that Jefferson was expected to hit the portal and now it’s official.

The former Arkansas quarterback will be hopping in the portal for his final year of eligibility. Here’s what he had to say about the move:

“It has been a dream to be captain and QB1 at the University of Arkansas. Accomplishing those records and being mentioned amongst the great QBs in Razorback history is an honor, but the memories and friendships I’ve made with my coaches and teammates along the way are what I’ll cherish the most,” Jefferson wrote in a post on his Instagram story. “With that being said, after much prayer and thought, I’ll be entering the transfer portal for my final year of eligibility.”

Arkansas already went to the portal and found Jefferson’s replacement. Former Boise State QB Taylen Green committed to Sam Pittman back on Monday. Green led the Broncos to a Mountain West title, beating UNLV 44-20.

Jefferson joined elite company at Arkansas this season after breaking the all-time passing touchdown record for the program. Jefferson should be a highly sought after player in the portal.
