Despite Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman testing positive for the coronavirus, the Razorbacks are still scheduled to travel to Gainesville on Saturday to take on No. 6 Florida. Barry Odom, the team’s defensive coordinator and former head coach at Missouri, will fill in for Pittman during his absence.

The game will feature the return of Feleipe Franks to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, a place the former Gator grew very familiar with before transferring to Arkansas in January. He is now tasked with leading his current team to what would be a major upset victory, especially with the Gators coming off a huge win over Georgia in the Cocktail Party in Jacksonville.

Despite the transfer of Franks, there won’t be any hard feelings, with Gators head coach Dan Mullen remarking that he was “really happy for him” not long after the move. And Franks shares an especially strong bond with Florida offensive coordinator Brian Johnson.

“He’s having a great year. Really excited for him. Feleipe’s like family to me,” Johnson said, according to Orlando Sentinel beat writer Edgar Thompson.

Franks has been key to a resurgent Razorbacks program that languished under Chad Morris. After a 4-20 overall mark and an 0-16 SEC record in 2 seasons with him at the helm, they are 3-3 this year under the guidance of Pittman.

And if Franks can help lead the Razorbacks to a victory over his former team, it will be the biggest sign of progress yet for a group looking to continue to make its mark in the SEC.
