Sometimes, rivalries can be set aside for something a bit more important.

An LSU superfan who goes by the moniker of “TJ LSU DAD” did just that in his latest YouTube post. During his latest segment of “SEC NEWS,” he decided to pay tribute to former Arkansas RB Rawleigh Williams III, who retired from the game this spring after suffering an injury that required him to be carted off the field.

Although it may seem like life and death at times during the fall, football is nothing more than a game. It’s nice to know that even a superfan can take a moment to appreciate a great player who stepped away for the right reasons.

Near the end of the clip, TJ LSU DAD even went so far as to don an Arkansas shirt in honor of Williams. A rising junior, Williams appeared set for a big season for the Razorbacks this fall. After recovering from a serious neck injury as a true freshman, Williams finished third in the SEC with 1,360 yards and 12 touchdowns. LSU was one of the few teams able to contain Williams, however, as he gained just 49 yards on 13 carries against the Tigers.

Perhaps that made the tribute a bit easier for TJ LSU DAD, but he tipped his cap in a show of respect for a great player who had to make a very tough decision. That’s pretty awesome.
