The Arkansas program is beginning to resemble a MASH unit down in Fayetteville as seemingly every day brings news of a fresh injury for the Razorbacks.

On Thursday, it was running back T.J. Hammonds that went down during the latest Razorback practice. With so many linemen already out, the team has lost three linemen at this point in camp and has begun shifting defensive linemen to the other side of the ball, the team was without Dalton Wagner on Thursday.

Following his team’s latest practice, Chad Morris met with the media to discuss the health status of all his banged-up players from the program’s most recent practice.

Running back T.J. Hammonds

“I’ve got a few injuries to report, obviously you saw T.J. Hammonds (injury). T.J. actually had an ankle sprain and came back out, taped it up and came back out, finished up practice. We held him from practice but he was out there, wasn’t any issues and going drill to drill. We will reevaluate him, nothing severe.”

Offensive lineman Dalton Wagner

“Dalton Wagner had his appendix removed, I guess that was yesterday morning. We expect to have him back in the next 10-14 days, hopefully. Hope to get that back.”

Morris then added these comments when asked for a follow-up on if he’s ever experienced a rash of OL injuries like this in his career:

“You look at it and you just kinda shake your head, and say okay, what’s next? Who is next now? You can’t dwell on it, there’s no time to dwell you just have say okay, we’ve been dealt that hand, let’s move. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us, nobody is going to stop and we have to respond. That’s just part of it, part of life and you have to have the next guy ready to go and that’s what they are doing.”

Defensive lineman Randy Ramsey

“Randy Ramsey was precautionary, he was in yellow today. He will be back Monday.”

Running back Rakeem Boyd

“Rakeem Boyd, obviously saw him out there. Rakeem, we put him in green, which means full speed but no contact, again for precautionary reasons.”

Tight end Jeremy Patton

“Jeremy Patton is progressing every day. Out of his boot, moving around, doing a little bit of jogging, we’ll see how that goes. That’s day-to-day.”
