No. 10 Arkansas heads west Saturday to take on No. 23 Texas A&M at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It will be the first time this season that the 3-0 Razorbacks have played outside of Fayetteville.

It won’t be a true road game but rather a neutral site game, and speaking Wednesday during the weekly SEC coaches teleconference, Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said he enjoys such matchups.

“I like neutral games,” Pittman said. “The problem was last year, I believe we had a 5-game stretch where we had 3 games where we were the ‘home team,’ but one was in Dallas and one was in Little Rock. … As far as the atmosphere, having 2 equal number of fan bases, it’s incredible. Being in Dallas Cowboys Stadium is incredible. Our kids enjoy that. There are some disadvantages, as well.”

Pittman also said Wednesday that he knows his team, and especially his defense, is in for quite a test Saturday.

“They have a very physical offensive line, great skill on the outside, with Max Johnson in there, runs the offense really well,” Pittman said. “He can also run … very accurate with the ball. They have an elite running back. … I’m sure that coach is working on whatever problems they may have. I don’t see a lot of them. I see a great opponent we’re getting ready to play.”

The A&M game marks the start of a difficult stretch on the schedule for Arkansas.

After facing the Aggies, the Razorbacks return home to face No. 2 Alabama on October 1,  before 3 consecutive road games follow against Mississippi State, BYU, and Auburn

“To be honest with you, I’ve said it many times. You don’t look at a schedule as a schedule,” Pittman said. “You look at it as the next week. We’ve got to win this game and that’s what we’re focused on this week.”

The Razorbacks and Aggies are set for a 7 p.m. (ET) kick off Saturday. The game will be televised by ESPN, and A&M is currently a 1.5-point favorite.
