Sam Pittman met with reporters Monday afternoon following the Razorbacks’ blowout win over Mississippi State last Saturday. During his availability the Arkansas head coach updated the status of star running back Ja’Quinden Jackson.
The Utah transfer has been one of the best running backs in the SEC this season, sitting at 592 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns through 7 games. He suffered a right ankle injury across the past 2 weeks and had been dealing with a shoulder injury earlier in the year.
Because of this, Jackson is still considered doubtful for Saturday’s game.
Sam Pittman says Arkansas RB Ja’Quinden Jackson will likely be “doubtful” for Saturday’s game against Ole Miss. Corner Jaylon Braxton also supposed to be doubtful again. #WPS

The Razorbacks did well without Jackson in the backfield against a bad Mississippi State defense, but the competition gets much tougher this Saturday. Arkansas will have its hands full against a solid Ole Miss defensive unit that ranks first in the SEC in rush yards allowed per game (76.6).
The Razorbacks are likely to once again turn to freshman back Braylen Russell, who rushed for 175 yards in 16 carries last weekend. The freshman also ran well against Tennessee’s stout defensive line, totaling 8 carries for 62 yards.
The Razorbacks and Rebels face off at Noon eastern on ESPN this coming Saturday.
