After missing out on Auburn’s big season, Austin Wiley has decided to return to The Plains to take part in the upcoming season for Bruce Pearl’s program.

The news was first broke by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports and has since been confirmed by multiple reports. Wiley declared for the NBA Draft but did not hire an agent, clearing the way for him to make a return next season.

Auburn has since confirmed the news of Wiley’s return.

“I’d like to thank the Auburn Family for the support, as well as my coaches and teammates for an incredible season,” Wiley said in a released statement. “I’m happy to be back. It’s time to get to work.”

Wiley missed all of last season following the investigation into the Auburn basketball program. He averaged 8.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks as a true freshman in 2016-17 for the Tigers. Wiley was among the nation’s top prospects at his position coming out of high school.

Auburn is still awaiting the draft decisions of Jared Harper, Bryce Brown and Mustapha Heron.
