The Georgia Bulldogs were in trouble before Saturday’s game even started, as Auburn holds an unusual streak against its SEC East rival.

Interestingly, in the long history of “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry,” the Tigers and Bulldogs have only been ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll at the same time four times.

Each of the previous three meetings, the Tigers won the game, often by wide margins. On Saturday, they extended that streak to four games:

Auburn’s win keeps the Tigers alive in the hunt for a College Football Playoff spot, but they’ll have to beat Alabama and Georgia (again) to earn a spot in the final four.

Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but for now, the Tigers are riding high after a huge win against their crossover rivals.
