The Auburn Tigers had a fantastic season, but they did struggle in one particular area — punting.

Therefore, finding a new punter has been a top priority for the Tigers this recruiting cycle, and they had to go to the Southern Hemisphere to find their man.

According to Scout.com, the Tigers have landed a commitment from 25-year-old former Aussie Rules Football player Arryn Siposs. Siposs said he was overwhelmed by Auburn’s atmosphere and the football facilities:

“It’s pretty overwhelming to be honest,” Siposs said. “It’s an amazing, amazing place. The facilities alone for football were crazy, but the whole place itself, we don’t experience anything like this back home. It’s special that’s for sure.”

Siposs said he’s thrilled to get his Auburn career started next year, as he’ll be moving to the U.S. for the first time to start his life as a college football player:

“I’m over the moon,” Siposs said. “Words really can’t describe it to be honest. It’s an incredible opportunity and something I’ll definitely be able to embrace. I can’t wait to get into it. Everything has been so overwhelming. It has just been awesome.”

Kentucky recently added an Aussie punter to its 2018 class, so it’ll be interesting to see if more SEC teams look to the Land Down Under to find kickers.
