The Auburn Tigers have a new offensive coordinator heading into the 2019 season, with Kenny Dillingham taking over the position.

Head coach Gus Malzahn will call the plays, but Dillingham still has an important job to do to help the Auburn offense improve.

He seems to be drawing rave reviews so far, and according to him, it may be because he tries to keep the game fun for his players (via AL.com):

“When I first got here, I felt like that was kind of the downfall — it was kind of — people weren’t flying around and having fun,” Dillingham said. “And at the end of the day, football’s a game where you’ve got to be focused, and you’ve got to be intentional with everything you do, detailed, but you’ve also got to be able to have fun. You’ve got to fly around and be—play who you are. You have to play to your personality.”

The Tigers have a lot of holes to fill on offense this year, particularly at quarterback after Jarrett Stidham left for the NFL.

Can Dillingham and Malzahn make the Tigers an offensive powerhouse again? We’ll find out this fall.
