Auburn offensive coordinator speaks to the media
Sean White, Jeremy Johnson and John Franklin III are in a heated battle for the right to start at quarterback for the Auburn Tigers in 2016.
Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee spoke with the media after Saturday’s practice and it sounds like the three athletes are still in a dead heat:
Lashlee said the quarterbacks have shown "some good, some bad." Said its hard when three guys are splitting reps.

That said, it doesn’t sound like the Tigers are any closer to naming a starter at the most important position on the field:
Lashlee on picking a QB: "Getting it right will be more important than getting it done fast."

As far as Franklin, who transferred to Auburn from Eastern Mississippi Community College this year, Lashlee said fans should give the junior time to adjust to the new school and new offensive system:
Auburn OC Rhett Lashlee: "I just hop everyone is fair to (John Franklin III) with expectations. #MGMAuburn

What that means for Franklin’s starting chances is yet to be determined, but Lashlee was at least positive about another aspect of the Tigers’ offense:
Asked if tough to lose best skill position player (Jovon Robinson), Lashlee said "I don't think we've lost our best skill position player."

Who Lashlee thinks Auburn’s best skill position player is is still a mystery, and of course he’s going to be positive about the team he has to work with at this time in the year, but the sooner the Tigers name a starting quarterback, the sooner they can get to work on other areas of the offense.
