Auburn puts out statement explaining status of new logo
The new Auburn logo may not be gone after all.
On Thursday, Tim Nail of The Auburn Plainsman shared a statement from the university that the proposed new logo hasn’t been scrapped completely, as previously thought to be the case. The statement said that the logo has been “temporarily postponed.”
“We have temporarily postponed implementation of the AU logo within the new system to allow opportunity for continued dialogue with stakeholders,” director of university communications services Preston Sparks said in an email statement Tuesday to The Auburn Plainsman. “The recommendations are not yet mandated.”
So, will the new logo eventually emerge again and take over the place of the old one? Or could this be something that is moved on from and forgotten over time?
Here’s a look at the subtle changes between the new logo and the old one:

For now, Auburn will have the old logo, including at this weekend’s football game. The Tigers are traveling to play Arkansas on Saturday at noon ET on SEC Network.
