Auburn RB Kamryn Pettway has rushed his way into elite company. When it comes to running against SEC defenses, Pettway’s name is near the top of a list of the conference’s best backs of this century.

At No. 2, Pettway finds himself between last year’s Heisman winner at No. 1 and a 2007 Heisman finalist at No. 3, and well ahead of Auburn’s most recent Heisman winner. The sophomore from Montgomery, Ala. boosted his conference average Saturday against Vanderbilt with a 25-carry, 173-yard performance.

Pettway is considered questionable for next week’s game against Georgia after “pulling something” according to Gus Malzahn’s postgame comments.
