Heading into the 2019 SEC Tournament, many analysts selected Auburn as the team that could potentially play the spoiler role once the action got underway. The Tigers didn’t disappoint those that believed in them as they broke out of a shooting slump early in the game to put Missouri away, 81-71.

The Tigers are now 23-9 on the season following this victory.

Auburn had four players register double-figure points in this contest as Chuma Okeke, Malik Dunbar, Bryce Brown and Horace Spencer all had 10 points or more in the game.

As Auburn marches forward in the tournament, one area the team will need to focus on is three-point defense. The Tigers are known as the SEC’s three-point shooting team but Missouri was the team that shot 51.7 percent from behind the arc after making 15 of 29 threes in Nashville.

With the win, Auburn advances to the quarterfinals stage and will face No. 4 seed South Carolina on Friday. That game will be broadcast by ESPN and begins at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT.
