Auburn OL Keiondre Jones is set to test the NCAA transfer portal waters. His time on The Plains might not be over just yet, though.

Jones tweeted Thursday that he is entering the portal as a grad transfer. In his tweeted note (below), Jones mentioned that he is not ruling out a return to Auburn, depending on Hugh Freeze’s staff hires.

“First and foremost to my Lord and Savior, thank you! Not only for football but for all that you do for me and my family as a whole. To Auburn, thank you for taking me from that momma’s boy from LaGrange and turning me into an Auburn man and allowing me to do something many like me will never and have never gotten the chance to do in getting a degree. As Coach [Cadillac] Williams always says, ‘I’m forever indebted to this university.’ Thank you to all my coaches during my time at Auburn and my old heads there for keeping me in the fight when I felt like I didn’t belong (y’all know who you are).

“With that being said, I will enter my name into the transfer portal. This is the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make but I have to do what’s best for me and my family. This does not count out Auburn. They will be at the top of my list pending coach staff and their interests, but either way I will always be and will continue to strive to exemplify what being an Auburn man truly means.”

Jones has made 36 appearances during his Auburn career, including 22 starts. This season, Jones was a starter in AU’s games against Penn State and Alabama. He has 2 seasons of remaining eligibility.
