Bryan Harsin appreciates Smoke Monday's decision to play in Birmingham Bowl
Auburn safety Smoke Monday revealed Friday that he will be entering the NFL Draft (declining a fifth season with the NCAA’s COVID free year of eligibility), but still play in the Birmingham Bowl. Three of Monday’s teammates – Roger McCreary, Zakoby McClain and Broadarius Hamm – have opted out of the game.
Tigers head coach Bryan Harsin appreciates Monday playing in the Birmingham Bowl after making his NFL Draft decision.
“I think it’s a privilege to play in the postseason,” Harsin told reporters. “I appreciate guys who continue to finish. That’s not a knock on the guys who have personal situations or make other choices. It’s an honor to be here in Birmingham and be a part of this game. It’s great for us to have Smoke and the other guys out there who want to be part of this opportunity.”
