Auburn’s quarterback depth may soon be taking a hit as freshman signal-caller Chayil Garnett has entered the NCAA transfer portal. This news was first reported by Matt Zentiz of AL.com.

Garnett signed with Auburn over scholarship offers from Duke, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, and Temple, among others in the 2020 recruiting cycle. He did not make an appearance on the field during his only season with Auburn.

This news comes after defensive linemen Jay Hardy and Jaren Handy each made the same decisions following the end of Bryan Harsin’s first spring at Auburn. Hardy entered the portal on Monday.

What do all these players have in common? They signed with Auburn during the Gus Malzahn era, none of them signed to play for Harsin.
