CJ Johnson, 2023 DB out of Texas, announces SEC commitment

CJ Johnson is headed to The Plains.
The talented defensive back from Katy, Texas announced his commitment to play for Hugh Freeze’s Auburn program on Sunday via social media.

He has been announced as a signee at Auburn. With the Early Signing Period over last month, Johnson has presumably enrolled for classes at AU.

A Paetow standout, Johnson is listed at 6-3, 193 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Johnson is rated 3-stars, the No. 62 safety, No. 117 Lone Star State recruit and No. 728 prospect overall in the 2023 recruiting class. He signs with Auburn over scholarship offers from 23 other programs.
Freeze’s staff is ending a big recruiting weekend with a bang. Johnson is Auburn’s third commitment of Sunday, joining transfers from LSU and Purdue. His highlights can be viewed below, via Hudl:
