CJ Uzomah was a key part of the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense during its Super Bowl run in 2021.

Under Joe Burrow, the Bengals are a team on the rise, but apparently, that rise will have to continue without Uzomah, a former Auburn standout.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Uzomah is leaving Cincinnati to sign a 3-year, $24 million contract with the New York Jets in the AFC East:

Was this Uzomah’s decision or did the Bengals decide they couldn’t afford him? That is unclear at this time, but money is what it’s all about in the pro ranks, and this is a great contract for the ex-Bengal.

Uzomah, a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, put up career highs in catches (49), yards (493) and touchdowns (5) in 2021. We’ll see if he can keep that momentum going in New York.
