Eric Reed, an Auburn cornerback, has made another decision about the transfer portal.

For the second time in 3 months, Reed has entered the transfer portal. The rising sophomore out of Shreveport, Louisiana Reed saw only very limited playing time with Auburn. Reed was a 4-star recruit with 13 offers coming out of high school.

Reed’s decision leaves Auburn especially inexperienced in the secondary.

The Tigers added 3 defensive back recruits in the class of 2022, but have seen transfer departures by Dreshun Miller, Ladarius Tennison and Ahmari Harvey, Roger McCreary declare for the NFL Draft, and Malcolm Askew exhaust his eligibility.

Here’s Reed’s Auburn bio:

2021: Reserve safety … first game action of season came in Birmingham Bowl against Houston

2020: Saw first action of season against Northwestern in Citrus Bowl

High School: Highly rated cornerback prospect … all-state performer for Coach Rodney Guin, helping the Cavaliers to the state playoffs … Shreveport Times Top 10 … also a basketball and track letterman … 247, Rivals and ESPN all rank him among the top seven recruits in Louisiana … rated among the top 15 nationally at his position

Personal: Birthday is October 10 … son of Eric Reed Sr. and Helena Dean … has three siblings, Eriel, Jerome and Dean … studying in the College of Liberal Arts
