The 2017 NFL Draft came and went without former Auburn starting offensive lineman Alex Kozan hearing his name called. While the weekend’s draft may have been a disappointment for Kozan, he will have his chance to earn his way onto an NFL roster thanks to the Rams, who signed the former Tiger.

After making 40 consecutive starts to finish his career, the AP First Team All-SEC performer has enough experience at college football’s highest level to make some noise this offseason and potentially make the Los Angeles roster. Thanks in part to his former Auburn teammate Greg Robison failing to live up to the hype in the NFL, Kozan could prove to be a cheaper alternative for the Rams, should he prove to be a valuable addition this offseason.

Kozan announced the news Wednesday via Twitter.

Making his string of starts all the more impressive, the former Auburn offensive lineman missed the entire 2014 season after injuring his back. Following in final college season, Kozan was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game.

Upon hearing the news, Auburn was clearly happy to see Kozan find himself a roster spot at the next level.
