UCF is certainly a devoted follower of SEC Media Days.

In the two times the Knights were mentioned in Atlanta (by reporters to coaches), they responded on social media. Nick Saban Wednesday, and Gus Malzahn Thursday.

Malzahn was asked specifically about the Knights’ national championship claim, as well as losing the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. And although he wouldn’t comment on UCF’s claim, he did comment on the Peach Bowl loss.

“Yeah. The bowl loss was obviously — we didn’t get it done,” Malzahn said Thursday. “We laid an egg that day. That’s not taking anything away from our opponent, excellent team, but we weren’t happy with the way that season ended.

“That’s something that our team has really used to motivate them over the summer. I know our coaches feel the same way as far as that goes.”

In response to Malzahn’s comments, UCF’s social media team had the perfect emoji.

Shoot, Paul Finebaum admitted that UCF could do something in 2018 that would have him buying into the national championship claim.

Talking season is just about over, but we’re not sure if UCF will adhere to the rules.
