John Cohen to Auburn: Contract details reportedly revealed for new Tigers AD
By Adam Spencer
Published:
John Cohen is moving from Mississippi State to Auburn, where he’ll serve as the Tigers’ new athletics director.
He’ll also be getting a healthy pay raise from what former AD Allen Greene was making on The Plains.
Per Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger, Cohen’s contract at Auburn is expected to be for 5 years with an annual salary around $1.5 million:
John Cohen's deal with Auburn is expected to be a five-year contract that pays him about $1.5 million a year, with incentives and assurances that he will operate his own athletic department, sources tell @SINow.

That is a big step up from Greene’s salary of $625,000 per year:
Allen Greene was paid $625K a year at Auburn, so this is a rather significant price hike for an AD https://t.co/MtT1dQWlz9

Cohen has been the Bulldogs’ athletic director since 2016. He had previously served as the school’s baseball coach from 2009 to 2016. How will he fare at Auburn? We’ll find out over the coming years, but he’ll reportedly be very well compensated for an AD.
