Joe Burrow has lost one of his favorite targets for the season.

Not only did Cincinnati lose to Cleveland during the latest edition of the NFL’s Thursday Night Football series, but the Bengals lost tight end C.J. Uzomah for the season. Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor confirmed the news on Friday.

The former Auburn tight end had been emerging as one of Burrow’s favorite targets this season in Cincinnati, as Uzomah had eight catches for 87 yards and a touchdown during on the season before suffering his injury on Thursday night.

Uzomah had to be carted off the field in the matchup against the Browns after suffering his injury.

Making matters worse for the Bengals, last season’s starting tight end, Tyler Eifert, left the team during the free agency period.

Burrow was already having to adjust to life in the NFL with one of the league’s worst offensive lines protecting him, now he’ll have to continue to progress without his tight end.
