More details are coming out involving Duke Williams’ dismissal at Auburn.

Alabama News Network’s reporting that one of the four people Williams’ allegedly punched early Sunday morning was injured teammate Xavier Dampeer, a reserve offensive lineman.

Dampeer was treated and released from East Alabama Medical Center after being hit in the jaw by Williams, according to a source. The same source said the fight occurred a Skybar, a popular night-life spot near Auburn University.

Gus Malzahn has not commented on anything relating to Williams’ dismissal other than saying this: “Anytime you have to make a tough call and dismiss a player it’s not easy, but at the same time, this is a team sport and you’re always going to think about the team first, and give people the opportunity to prove themselves. It’s not easy and it shouldn’t be easy for a coach, but you have to what is best for the team,” he continued.”

Deadspin called Williams’ outburst a ‘punching rampage’ earlier this week.
