The race to land Kelly Bryant is still alive and well.

Auburn hosted the former Clemson quarterback Tuesday, according to a report from The State. Many floated the Plains as a potential landing spot for Bryant after he announced his decision to transfer in late September, and it looks like the SEC Tigers are a strong candidate for his services.

“It was a good trip just sitting down and talking with coach and getting a feel for what they were all about,” Bryant told The State. “Feel it would be a good situation to be able to step into with the guys they will have coming back on both sides of the ball.”

Bryant decided to transfer from Clemson following the team’s fourth game of the season, taking advantage of the new rule that allows him to maintain a redshirt despite playing in that many games. The ACC Tigers’ starter at quarterback last year, Bryant lost his job to true freshman and former star recruit Trevor Lawrence.

Bryant has already visited Arkansas and Missouri, so it appears he’s heavily interested in joining an SEC squad. It’s worth noting that if he joins Auburn, he’ll be mired in another quarterback controversy next year unless junior Jarrett Stidham declares for the NFL draft.
