LSU’s loss appears to be Auburn’s gain as one of Mississippi’s top prospects has just committed to the Tigers. This time it’s the Auburn Tigers that hold Jaren Handy’s interest, as the four-star pass rusher from the Magnolia State was at one time an LSU commit.

Back in March, Handy committed to LSU but ultimately backed off that pledge a few weeks later.

The 6-foot-5, 278-pound Hattiesburg native is rated as the No. 108 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 8 strongside defensive end and the No. 6 overall recruit from Mississippi according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Aside from his Tiger offers, Handy also has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

He announced his commitment to Auburn with the following post on Twitter:

The Tigers now have 11 commitments lined up for the 2019 recruiting cycle, with five of those pledges coming from prospects ranked as four or five-star recruits. Handy is now Auburn’s fourth-highest overall ranked commit.
