Auburn wide receivers coach Kodi Burns shared some good news on freshman Kyle Davis, one of the Tigers’ many talented newcomers at the position.

“He’s fine,” Burns told AL.com prior to the Clarke Washington Auburn Club annual meeting Thursday in Jackson, Ala. “Kyle’s good. He’s getting better. I think he’s 100 percent healthy now, so that’s always good.”

Davis was one of Auburn’s big gets of the 2016 class, rated the No. 9 wide receiver. The early enrollee was supposed to get a leg up on the incoming competition, which includes fellow four-star signees Nate Craig-Myers and Eli Stove, but was only a non-contact participant in spring practice while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Burns and the rest of the Auburn staff appear to be getting a player with an excellent practice approach.

The Tigers will need newcomers like Davis to step up in 2016 in order to make improvement in the passing game.

Davis’ high school highlights below show he brings some much-needed size to the AU receiving corps.
