Auburn landed a very special commitment Monday as in-state receiver Shedrick Jackson announced his decision to officially join the Tiger family. What makes this announcement so special is the fact that he’s the nephew of all-time Auburn great Bo Jackson, arguably the best player in program history.

Now Shedrick will have a chance to add to the legacy of his famous uncle as well as forge his own history as a member of the Tigers beginning in 2018. Auburn now has seven total commits lined up in the 2018 recruiting cycle, with Jackson representing the lone receiver at this time.

The Hoover, Alabama native announced his commitment with the following video, which was produced by AL.com Studios.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Jackson is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 57 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 11 overall prospect from the state of Alabama by 247Sports. He committed to Auburn over offers from Mississippi State, Missouri, and Memphis among others.

Check out Jackson’s junior season highlight reel, where he displays the speed that would make even his incredibly fast uncle proud.
