The Auburn men’s basketball team has been dominant so far this season, racking up an impressive 20-2 overall record and an 8-1 mark in SEC play.

As the Tigers prepare for a Saturday night home game against Vanderbilt, they were a topic of discussion on ESPN’s College GameDay.

According to analyst Jay Bilas, the Tigers could make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. In fact, Bilas said coach Bruce Pearl’s squad has what it takes to reach the Elite 8:

That, of course, will be easier said than done, but the Tigers have indeed been playing well and should be able to take care of business on Saturday night against a Vanderbilt team that is at the bottom of the SEC standings with a 2-7 mark.

In ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi’s latest projections, Auburn is a No. 2 seed, so the Tigers are getting plenty of respect on the national level. Now, it’s up to them to take advantage of the spotlight.
