The College Football Playoff rankings will look different Tuesday night, thanks to No. 23 Utah’s 38-7 upset win over No. 4 Oregon.

Last Tuesday, the selection committee ranked 1. Georgia, 2. Alabama, 3. Oregon and 4. Ohio State as the top 4 teams in the nation. This week, however, will see a shakeup.

Earlier Saturday, No. 4 Ohio State destroyed No. 7 Michigan State 56-7, and with Oregon going down, it’s possible that Ohio State could jump Alabama to No. 2, too. The Crimson Tide did beat Arkansas 42-35, but there’s a strong possibility the committee will be more impressed with Ohio State.

Cincinnati is the team everyone is talking about. Lee Corso doesn’t think the Bearcats deserve to be in the top 4 regardless if they win out; however, they hammered SMU Saturday 48-14 and are in prime position to make the Playoff if they win out.

So, it wouldn’t surprise us to see 1. Georgia, 2. Ohio State, 3. Alabama and 4. Cincinnati in the top 4 Tuesday night. Michigan will jump to No. 5, too, giving the Buckeyes another chance to defeat a highly ranked team.
