We hear this type of talk every time Alabama loses. According to some media members, Bama was done after losing to Ole Miss in 2014, and again in 2015. Saban was apparently going to Texas because his dynasty ended in the SEC. I'm not sure any other coach gets this treatment after losing one game. Most of these points lack any kind of validity. Saban has said multiple times that his age isn't a factor in his choice to coach. Alabama hasn't lost that many players to the transfer portal. Recruiting hasn't fallen off for Bama, even with the two signing days. Recruiting ebbs and flows with whoever is hot at the time, but the majority of the powerhouses are still recruiting competitively with each other. It's possible (but highly unlikely) that Tua stays for next year. Even if he leaves, it's not like Saban hasn't had to deal with new QBs before. Greg McElroy, AJ McCarron, and Jake Coker all won national championships during their first year as starters. College football has been offensive minded for a while. The defense has dropped the last two years due to injuries to key players. One point I agree with Colin on is about the coordinators. I don't think that's enough to make Saban retire though.
