I was born in Sturgis, Michigan and moved from Michigan to Kansas City, Missouri as a 2 year old with my parents who were moving for better opportunity somewhere else. My late father was an Alum of the University of Michigan, my mom's side of the family all Michigan State Spartan fans, and me? Well, I adopted the Missouri Tigers from a very young age. Although I do root for the Wolverines as my 2nd team. I was once asked who I thought the 5 greatest College football programs of all time were? My answers: Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Southern California, and Notre Dame. Yes...I know I left out Ohio State. It's just hard for any Michigan fan to admit they are good. Including me. Well, I hope I'm welcomed by all on here and I'll never be a typical Homer.

Well, does Georgia have the Flea kicker game? The 5th down? Missouri had Dan Devine before his Dame Fame. He had us a KU victory from the National Title game. KU played ineligible players. We lost. Devine left. That was the late 60's. We were that close to being what Nebraska, LSU, or a Washington in their heyday ended up being. Georgia has a recruiting hotbed. Heisman winners. National championships. Historically great all time bowl games, and greatest back and forth games. Georgia has a tons more NFL alumni because of the recruiting hotbed they can pluck from, and lastly? Besides the Braves? You have no other long tenured successful franchise. Please don't say the Falcons. I'm old enough to remember when y'all were pitiful before Vick, and after Deion. After Vick, and even when playoff level? The dirty birds have never gotten over the perpetual stretch of losing seasons of the past. Your NFL team? Is like Kansas Cities MLB team. If they are winning? They are a hot ticket. If not? Nope. That's what no postseason contender does to a fan base after almost 30 years. The Chiefs fill up Arrowhead win or lose. Will probably always be that way. Chiefs, Cardinals, Blues, and Mizzou. Lots of competition for Missouri. They are last in that pecking order too by the way. Yall got the Braves, and Bulldog football. Thats it. Georgia Tech? Not since triple option Dodd was in prime power. Hawks? Lol. United? Lol. NHL? Nope. 2 sport attractions. That's it. Missouri has a lot more to compete with, and overcome. Not giving us excuses. Just saying. Missouri has a mountain of historical levels to ascend to even get close to the level that Georgia is at currently. In short? Probably never going to happen. But? All it takes is a Pinkel but 20 years younger, and wanting to be a first.
You guys, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Southern California, Texas, and my Michigan Wolverines are the most underachieving programs in the nation. Until LSU, BAMA, Clemson, and Ohio State fall off? Georgia will be falling just short of a natty.
Miami isn't close to being back. Now, I think USC is a sleeping giant out West. They get back rolling again? Things will be getting interesting. That might be only program that when it is on point? It will compete and even trump the Bama, LSU, and Clemson recruiting classes. I think that they will be back sooner rather than later. Miami? No. Miami would need FSU, and Florida to both be having down dry spells at the same time for a couple years. Aint going to happen.
Because you guys aren't the same Auburn Tigers that y'all used to be. Y'all used to be part of the 3-4 class of the conference. A perennial top 10-12 program. Annually. Yall have fallen back to the normal levels lately.
I'm a Mizzou 1st, Michigan 2nd guy. Born in Michigan and relocated with family years later. Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, USC, and my Michigan Wolverines are the most underachieving programs and it's not even close. I had the conversation the other day with a buddy about which traditional powerhouse programs are truly capable of making it back to the level they once were? Honestly, I don't think Michigan, or Nebraska will ever be the same again. Tennessee is a maybe. Miami, and Texas it is definitely possible with the right hires, and a alumni base allowing the process to play out. The big one for me? Is Southern California. That is a sleeping giant out there. When they finally get the right people in place again they will be rolling right along again. Texas, and Tennessee have athletic department, alumni influence, and booster impatient type of problems. Michigan and Nebraska have no recruiting hot beds to pluck from nearby, and they are competing with Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, and Notre Dame for kids in those cold state areas. I think after Saban leaves, if Dabo don't take the Bama gig? It will be Texas A&M, and LSU running the SEC. Then the Florida, and Georgia's will be a notch down from there. Then your going to have the Ohio States, Oklahoma's, Notre Dame's, Clemson's, Oregon's, and USC's running the other areas in the college football landscape. I don't think we are going to see national champions outside of the same 10-12 programs from here on out. I just don't see it in football. It's too top heavy in football. Basketball is a little different.
Clemson is going to outclass Georgia this year. Georgia while a top 15 program of all time? Is one of the 5 most underachieving programs in the country and has been for a long time now. Right there with Tennessee,Texas, Southern California, Miami,Michigan and Nebraska. Only differences are Nebraska, and Michigan doesn't have elite recruiting hot beds in their back yard. Whats Georgia, Tennessee, USC, Miami, and Texas's excuse? There is none. Traditional power and prestigious programs that have been a disgrace lately when comparing their advantages all around to the results on the field. Bama, Clemson, LSU, and Ohio State have been in a class all their own lately.

Good win Coach! Don't know what inner Lombardi he summoned or what, but ill take it.Now hit recruiting hard and find kids who want to be a part of our rise out of the abyss. Teams like Arkansas are not easy come from behind wins. Good game Arkansas.
Our fan base has been so depressed and negative lately guys. This game meant alot for us fans going forward. Of course there wasn't a big attendance. Day after Thanksgiving. Nothing has been going good for Mizzou lately and we are in the news for the wrong reasons it seems like every other week. Go watch a program that has singlehandedly tarnished its own reputation play a football game, or spend some time with my loved ones visiting from out of State? I'll choose family Everytime no matter how much I will always bleed Tiger black and gold. The fans dont need to right the Mizzou ship. Our Athletic department and people in charge need to do that. When we start seeing that they are serious about righting the ship? You will see die hards come back and back to stay. Last year's CS1950 protests killed a lot of enthusiasm and energy on our campus. Unfortunately until some wrongs are righted or some things change? Alot of people won't be going all in on Mizzou like we used to no matter how successful one of our teams is. There is a culture that needs to be nipped at the bud. The liberals run the campus is what some say. I don't know if that's the problem or not. But like i said... it's not my job to figure the problem out. It's the people appointed to positions at the University who need to execute on plans that will better our reputation and image. Right now? A lot of Mizzou fans are ashamed of their favorite college team. Sometimes i want to be. But I continue to care what happens to the university regardless if good or bad. I'm a lifer which might mean never celebrating a National title in basketball or football. But you know what? I'd rather keep my enthusiasm filled for an occasional run at a division title then to always be expecting or demanding a conference or national and going overboard when they fall short. The Blue Blood programs in basketball and football are almost cursed by their own history. The boosters, fan bases, and alumni forget what it's like to appreciate success when you had to start at the bottom to finally get there. How many times do programs have coaches shown the door when they are never having sub .500 seasons? All the time because most those programs are only satisfied with being #1. I'm satisfied sometimes with being in a top 10 ranking. That's called being appreciative of something and always remembering at all times it could always be a lot worse. The SEC is the best conference hands down. I'm happy for Mizzou to be a part of it. But if we can't get a little sympathy from our conference brethren for everything that has hit our program in the last couple years? Are we really conference mates? Or simply just there to beat up on each other. I will always root for all SEC programs to do well and stay out of violation Territory. It hurts the entire conference when our tradition rich programs are down or on probation. So to the author about the game's attendance? Put yourself through what we have all been put through by our beloved university, then beg the question why nobody is at the games?
Good game to Arkansas. We needed this game more than you guys needed it. This is for more for just a football trophy for us today. Our Tigers of Columbia have had the worst of fortune fall on us lately and this win gives us fans the hope we needed to believe that maybe, just maybe we have started to right the ship at least a little bit. For us to come out in the 2nd half and not just lay down? Shows my horrible football team still has a little Mizzou pride in them. Odom said something to them or made some kind of adjustments. Something I never seen Gary Pinkel do much of if ever. Pinkel being down 24-7 still loses the game. Probably gets blown out. Odom's team actually clawed back into it and won. Arkansas fans-You guys are going to eventually be pushing everyone around in the trenches. Trust me. Bret builds elite lines in the trenches. Give him a little more time is all. You win in the trenches? You end up seeing those victories on the lines translate Wins. You guys will be hell to deal with going forward.
We really needed this game. Not for bowl eligibility. Not for just the seniors. But for the people who bleed Black and Gold. This past 3 years has been so tough to be a Mizzou fan. We are a fan base who has had our hearts broken with "The 5th Down", The "Flea Kicker", Tyus Edney's coast to coast UCLA miracle to beat us in March Madness. Countless more scandals and stretches of bad luck. We needed this game to show us fans that this team didnt just pack it in even though it's not a championship game. Even though we still sucked this year. This win gives us fans a glimmer of hope that maybe we can turn around what has befallen our Columbia, Missouri University. Maybe we can make progress and start to come out of the ashes. Congratulations to Arkansas for at least qualifying for a bowl game and i wish them and everyone else in our conference wins their bowls. Arkansas played a tough game and really could have blown us out of the water had we not come out in the 2nd half on a mission. This gives me optimism going forward because obviously we made halftime adjustments, or Barry Odom found a way to get through to our kids. Either way I'm happy we could finally get something good for my favorite college team, and I want to say that Arkansas is eventually going to get to a much bigger level. Beilema knows how to build in the trenches. That's is always going to translate to success. It takes patience by the fan base. How does a traditional mediocre college team take the next step and start to raise its prestige level and traditions? Its simple. Consistency in coaching staffs, and the recruiting in roads they make in certain places. Kids love stable situations with coaches that ain't going nowhere. Hopefully Odom gets us back to .500 next year and coaches Missouri for the next 15 years. He is not being tasked with easy shoes to fill in replacing Gary Pinkel. But, I think we will get back to respectable. Might be a year or two. But we will be back. Sorry for nosebleed. First time poster and hope all you members are cordial and accepting of me.
